This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine...

It's a stormy, windy day today.
Exciting in its own way.
Trees swaying back and forth.
Their own dance against a dark sky.
Clouds move quickly.
No time to dilly dally.
Places to go, people to see.
No time to stop.
Keep moving.

Look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky
Is a hazy shade of winter

I visited a Canadian store last week called Aritzia
that led me to the photos on this site
listed under Submission Series.
There's a variety of images but some are truly amazing.

Years ago I lived in a small Dominican town
that sat across the river bordering Haiti.
Every Wednesday Haitians would cross the river
bringing items to a market.

Living on the border I learned more about the island and the separation of two cultures, the Dominicans and the Haitians. Both countries are considered third world. Unfortunately there is still a class difference between Dominicans and Haitians, even though the majority of population come from poverty stricken circumstances.
Unable to cross the border into Haiti, I was told by locals that the country was far worse than the most
poverty ridden areas of the Dominican Republic.

I appreciate the efforts and donations,
however big or small, anyone and everyone has
been able to give to such an important cause for relief.

Thank You.

weekend watercolor

"As I looked about me I felt that the grass was the country, as the water is the sea. The red of the grass made all the great prairie the colour of wine-stains, or of certain seaweeds when they are first washed up. And there was so much motion in it; the whole country seemed, somehow, to be running."
